Henry Ratt
I'm from Sucker River, was born in La Ronge, but was raised in Morning Lake. I am a trapper, hunter, guide, harvester, outfitter and I love to fish, hunt, and teach culture and language. I'm a father, husband and a teacher at Chief Moses Ratt School. My hobbies include fishing, walking, hunting, and making traditional tools out of wood. I became involved with the Gift of Language and Culture project through the Northern Retention Committee then I was later appointed by the co-ordinator. I am currently translating legends to Cree, and I am also editing for the project. I hope to see more Cree resources and material developed. In regards to language preservation, I believe we should work together to regain and restore the language which was attempted to be taken away from us. ikosi pitamā
