The 2009 NCLRC Cree Language Festival was a success for all involved. Many communities were present to compete with one another in a fun-friendly competition. As with last year, categories were split in singles and group competitions for both adults and children.

The evening event also had other communities participating, including: Stanley Mission, Southend, Grandmother’s Bay, Pinehouse, and La Ronge.
Having the Cree Language Festival in March meant warmer weather for travellers as the temperature was hovering at minus 5-7 Degrees Celsius. Last year, we had the event in February 12, with temperatures hovering around minus 16-18 degrees.
